A new PlayStation Store sale has netted not one, but two critically acclaimed PS4 games for just $1.49. Considering that both games are normally $14.99, this represents a great opportunity to save some serious pocket money, or more specifically, $27. That said, both offers are only available for a limited time, ending on March 30. If you’re reading this after March 30th, you’ve unfortunately missed out on both offers, one of which is for Spelunkyof which the second exists The changer.
Spelunky debuted back in 2008 as an open-source 2D platformer, but it didn’t gain traction until it was remade in 2012. Upon release, the game scored a 90 on Metacritic, making it one of the highest rated games of the year. Developed by Mossmouth, it got an equally critically acclaimed sequel in 2020 named Spelunky 2.
Spelunky: “Spelunky is a unique platform game with randomized levels that offers a challenging new experience every time you play. Travel deep underground and explore amazing places filled with all kinds of monsters, traps and treasures. Go solo or bring up to three friends with you in cooperative play or frantic deathmatch!”
As for the changer, it debuted around a similar time in 2013 via Facepalm Games. The puzzle platformer has Metacritic scores as high as 92 and it seems to have sold noticeably, but unlike Spelunkyit never got any sort of sequel, at least not yet.
The Switch: “What if someone knew your mind better than you did? The changer is an award-winning, narrative-driven puzzle game set in the far reaches of space. The changer takes place in an isolated and atmospheric sci-fi world. Players use an experimental device that allows them to create clones of themselves, swapping their entire consciousness into new bodies to overcome the challenges of the environment.”
