Daisy Jones & The Six it’s actually inspired by the tumultuous history of Fleetwood Mac, a fact that is now the focus of a TV adaptation of the novel now streaming on Amazon Prime.
As the story follows the rise and fall of a pretend rock band, it explores the relationship between frontwoman Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne; a couple who express their feelings during live performances and with aggressive non-verbal expressions. Who did you remind?Following the show’s success, fans quickly turned their attention to the real inspiration behind it; Fleetwood Mac, especially their performance of their 1997 hit Silver Springswhich was originally intended to be their iconic album Rumorsbut it was shelved and later released as a B-side.
Release, which takes place in The dance tour, heightens the stormy relationship between Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks and their long, not-so-complicated history as ex-lovers. As they sing a song, which Nick wrote about losing their relationship, she turns her attention to her ex, eyes blazing, as she sings powerfully ‘You will never leave the voice of a woman you love’.
Many viewers of Daisy Jones & The Six now they are turning to TikTok, Twitter and Instagram to celebrate this hot, hot photo within the Fleetwood Mac timeline, with many fans suggesting that this exact performance must have been what created the idea behind the show.
Reid confirmed this to be true, and says it was this performance that inspired one of the first songs in the book, I regret it.
“That idea of a woman’s right to be angry is based entirely on Stevie Nicks’ singing Silver Springs at Lindsey Buckingham during their reunion (album and) show, The dance (in 1997),” Jenkins Reid told The Guardian in 2019.
“I’ve always been very moved by Stevie Nicks singing that song the way she did at the time”.
In another interview, it was also revealed that actor Sam Claflin (who plays the role of Billy Dunne) was sent this game by his friend before his interview. “He was like, ‘Just call this partner,'” she told ELLE.
After his successful casting, Claflin sent the video to Riley Keough (Daisy Jones). He says: “He says, ‘Wow, this is Billy and Daisy.’ “So I think, in a way, we wanted to convey that through the process.”
Talking about performance and how they use it in their performance I regret it in the program, he adds: “They are on stage and he just turns his back to the audience and just stares at her and just sings.” And he says, ‘Oh God.’ And he keeps staring at her lazily.
“And I think that was the energy we wanted to bring to that song every time we sang it. I think there is doubt that (Billy) should sing it.”
