Rumor: Samsung is bringing back the rotating bezel for the Galaxy Watch6 Pro

The rotating bezel was a unique selling point for Samsung watches, but the company opted to skip it with the Galaxy Watch5 series. According to Korean Leakster Super Roaderthe Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Pro will bring back the rotating bezel, providing an upgrade path for people who held on to their classics.

Only the Pro will offer this feature, the Vanilla Watch6 will reportedly stick to a digital bezel. And there’s some good news for those who thought the Galaxy Watch5 Pro was too big (it only came in a 45.4mm size), the Watch6 Pro will be available in two sizes.

Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic • Galaxy Watch5 Pro

However, what these sizes might be is unclear. The Galaxy Watch4 Classic came in 46mm and 42mm sizes, the former having a 1.4″ screen (the same size as the Watch5 Pro), the latter a 1.2″ screen. The two versions of the Watch6 Pro should be in the same ballpark.

There should be other upgrades, e.g. recently Safety Korea photographed the battery for the tiny 40mm Galaxy Watch6 (as spotted by GalaxyClub), and it had a 300mAh capacity, a slight 5% bump from the 284mAh battery in the 40mm Watch5. The Watch5 Pro had the largest battery of a Samsung watch to date, at 590mAh, and perhaps the new Pro will get a bump as well.

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch generation will most likely be unveiled in August along with the next generation of Samsung foldables. Fortunately for the impatient people in the audience, Samsung’s tech tends to leak ahead of the official reveal, so expect to hear more about the new Pro soon.
