SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Bill Armstrong announced today that the Coyotes have signed goaltender Jon Gillies to a one-year, two-way contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The 6-foot-6, 223-pound Gillies posted a 3.70 goals against average (GAA) and an .887 save percentage (SV%) in a career high 20 games with the New Jersey Devils and St. Louis Blues in 2021-22.
The Concord, NH native has registered a 7-15-3 record with a 3.31 GAA and an .893 SV% in 32 career NHL games with the Calgary Flames, Blues and Devils. After turning pro prior to the 2015-16 season, Gillies has appeared in 169 regular-season AHL games and recorded a 73-63-30 record with a 2.87 GAA, a .906 SV% and nine shutouts.
Gillies was originally drafted by the Flames in the third round (75th overall) in 2012.
