Atlanta Braves World Series trophy tour coming to Asheville on Sept. 2

The Atlanta Braves 2021 World Series trophy tour will come to Asheville on Sept. 2.

The event, which offers fans a chance to take pictures with the trophy, will be held downtown at Harrah’s Cherokee Center from 5-8 pm No ticket is required.

By the end of the summer, the trophy will have made a total of 151 stops across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi. n

It will be the trophy’s second stop in WNC. The tour previously came to Cherokee in March for an all-day event hosted in conjunction with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

Some stops include appearances from former coaches or players, but Asheville is not currently listed as one of them.

The Braves seem to be in a good position right before the All-Star break. The game will be played at Dodger Stadium on July 19 at 4:30 pm When the trophy is in Ashville, the Braves will be in Miami playing the Marlins. They currently have a 53-37 record and sit 2.5 games behind the Mets in the NL East standings.
