Selena Gomez went makeup-free on Monday as she kicked off the week with two Instagram selfies that showed off her glowing complexion.
The 30-year-old superstar – who recently opened up about her difficult lupus diagnosis – rocked a low-cut black tank top as she treated her 398 million followers to a few candid snaps.
Gomez wore her shiny dark hair in relaxed waves as she appeared to be enjoying some downtime at home, looking relaxed.
“Violet chemistry,” Selena captioned the post, which received rave reviews from her massive fan base, racking up four million likes in under an hour.
‘ABSOLUTELY JOYFUL,’ gushed fitness influencer Whitney Simmons, while another fan wrote: ‘SO PRETTYYYYYYY.’
Selena is happy to keep it real with her followers as she regularly posts makeup-free selfies to promote body positivity.
The Only Murders in The Building star posted a very candid picture last month where she ditched the filters to proudly show off a prominent blemish on her upper lip.
“Me,” the new queen of Instagram wrote, posting the candid photos and receiving massive praise in her comments section.
Nicola Peltz Beckham, 28, wrote ‘the most beautiful ever’, while White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza, 38, left Gomez a love emoji.
Selena rocked her natural curls and a pair of cozy sweaters, letting her bare features shine with radiant confidence.
Her latest round of makeup-free selfies follows her revealing appearance on the Apple TV+ docu-series Dear…
Gomez recalled that she privately struggled with criticism of her fluctuating weight, and shared that she was more deeply affected by body shaming than she had initially let on.
The Same Old Love singer, who has previously revealed that her lupus medication is causing her to gain weight, described how she portrayed herself online as someone who didn’t care about the criticism – when in reality she was ‘crying my eyes out.’
‘My weight would constantly fluctuate because I would be on certain medications. And of course people just ran with it,’ Selena said.
‘It was like they couldn’t wait to find something to bring me down. I was shamed for gaining weight because of my lupus.
‘I lied. I’d go online and I’d post a picture of myself and I’d say, “It doesn’t matter. I don’t accept what you’re saying.” All the while I was in the room posting and crying my eyes out because no one deserves to hear those things.
“Even though I posted these things and said it doesn’t bother me,” she explained, “because I didn’t want it to bother other people who are going through the same thing, being shamed for how they look, who they are , who they love. I just think it’s so unfair. I don’t think anyone deserves to feel less than.’
