Loki’s Owen Wilson Plays a Superhero in Non-MCU Movie Secret Headquarters

A surprise announcement from Paramount+ reveals Loki actor Owen Wilson is set to star as a superhero in the upcoming movie Secret Headquarters.

In an unexpected announcement from Paramount+, Owen Wilson was unveiled as the streaming service’s newest superhero in the upcoming movie Secret Headquarters.

The photo shows Wilson in a suit composed of hexagonal pieces and an Arc Reactor-like piece in the center of his chest, with text just below it reading, “Not all Dads wear business suits.” Paramount+ shared the photo on social media with no prior announcement. “Owen Wilson is the man behind the suit in SECRET HEADQUARTERS, coming exclusively to [Paramount Plus],” the tweet reads. “We’ll unmask the trailer TOMORROW… #SecretHQMovie.”

This comes after the special announcement of a 90% price cut for Amazon’s Prime Day, reducing Paramount+ subscription fees to only $0.99 per month. Secret Headquarters will mark the first time that Wilson has been cast as a superhero. Fans reacted with astonishment and excitement in the replies, exchanging drawn-out “Wows,” as the actor is known to do.

Owen Wilson Before Loki

Wilson is famous for his roles in comedic films but has a varied resume, appearing in classics such as Zoolanderthe Meet the Parents trilogy, Starsky and Hutch, Marley and Meand the Night at the Museum series. He also works closely with director Wes Anderson, appearing in many of his films as a member of his ensemble cast and contributing as a writer to Anderson’s earlier work. He has also lent his unique voice to animated films such as The Fantastic Mr. Foxalthough he is perhaps best known for his role as Lightning McQueen in the hit Pixar movie Tsar.

Wilson gained popularity among Marvel fans for his role in the Disney+ series Loki as Mobius M. Mobius, an ally to the titular character played by Tom Hiddleston. The two actors previously shared the screen in the Woody Allen film Midnight in Paris. Mobius’ relationship with Loki at the beginning of the series is initially antagonistic before the two pull back the curtain on the dubious TVA, and Wilson becomes an unlikely friend to the god of mischief. The conclusion of Loki Season 1 saw the Sacred Timeline shatter into multiversal conflict, with Loki returning to a TVA where no one knows who he is and Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Ravonna Renslayer set off in search of the MCU’s next high-profile villain, Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors ). Filming on Loki Season 2 began in June at Pinewood Studios in London.
