Laurence Fishburne doesn’t remember being part of the MCU


Actor Laurence Fishburne has apparently forgotten that he was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even though he has labeled himself a huge fan of the series.


In an interview Phase zero podcast, Fishburne admitted to loving superheroes when asked what his favorite movies were. “I’m an MCU guy,” Fishburne said. “I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And as much as I’d like to be in it, I’m happy to be a fan and look forward to anything. Fans immediately pointed out that Fishburne is in the MCU as he portrays Dr. Bill Foster in 2018 Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Fishburne added that he is particularly excited about the upcoming quarter Captain America movie — adding “bring it!” It’s not clear if Fishburne knew he was actually part of the MCU and had just forgotten, or if he believed he was no longer part of it when his character went into hiding at the end of the season. Ant-Man and the Wasp. Bill Foster did not appear in the latest MCU film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Fishburne’s storied history with superheroes

Ant-Man is not the only superhero movie Fishburne has starred in. He has appeared as Perry White, a journalist in the film. Daily Planetin several DC Extended Universe movies, viz Superman in 2013 and Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice In 2016. He also provided the voice of the Silver Surfer in the 2007 film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surferan early Marvel film not considered part of the MCU canon.

Most recently, Fishburne appeared as Vick Wallinger in Janus Metz Pedersen’s spy thriller All old knivesand as one of the leads The school of good and evil, both released in 2022. He also serves as the voice of the mysterious Beyonder in the Disney animated series The Moon Girl and the Devil Dinosaur and is set to appear alongside Keanu Reeves in the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4which opens in theaters on March 24.
