Prince Harry thought he might lose Meghan Markle after a nasty fight.
During an interview with Dr. Gabor Maté, on Saturday, discussed the royal, 38, an argument that he wrote about in his recently published memoir, “Spare”, in which Markle, 41, threatened to leave him.
Harry now tells that he “needed it.”
“I really needed it,” he said. “I needed that setback” and the thought of “losing her.”
In “Spare,” the Duke of Sussex admitted he “got sensitive” and “spoken” when a conversation with Markle “took an unexpected turn.” He recalls getting “disproportionately, sloppily angry” at the “Suits” alum, addressing him “hardly” enough that “everything in the room (came) to a standstill.”
After a brief interlude, Markle calmly let the royal know “that she would never stand to be spoken to like that.”

The Duke of Sussex explained that Markle’s quiet question about where he learned to talk to someone like that “was a light bulb moment.
“An understanding of how these things manifest and how we are so much a product of our upbringing.”
Harry continued to rave about his American-born wife, who he married in 2018, calling her an “extraordinary person.”

The California royal shared that he agreed with people who say, “my wife saved me.”
“I was stuck in this world and she was from another world and helped pull me out,” he explained.

“Yes, my partner is an extraordinary person and I am forever grateful for the wisdom and space she has been able to give me.”

They share two children: son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 1.
