High-end retailer J.Crew returns to Midlands market with new store | Columbia Business

FOREST ACRES — Upscale clothing brand J.Crew is returning to the Midlands, actually to the mall where it closed its store in January 2021.

Work is already underway at a J.Crew Factory location in Trenholm Plaza in Forest Acres. The store, next to The Fresh Market grocery store, is expected to open this spring, Eden’s real estate company, which manages the space, confirmed March 16 to The Post and Courier.

The move marks a turnaround for the clothier and returns an in-demand retail brand to the Midlands.

“J.Crew Factory joins our retail mix at Trenholm Plaza during an exciting period of growth, further elevating Forest Acres’ premier gathering spot,” Matt Crosland, managing director at Edens, said in a statement.

J.Crew offers both dressy and casual clothing for women, men and children, with a history of providing sought-after sweaters and dressier choices. In-store services will include customer pickup of online orders and consultations with a personal shopper, according to a news release.

J.Crew Factory is the more deal-oriented retail store for the brand, focusing on outlet-style discounts.
